I dropped some ungodly amount of money when I first signed up with these guys years ago - I think that down payment kept me paying the monthly as long as I did because I felt like I was throwing it away if I just quit.  Saw a deal at Costco where it was $299 for a 2 year all club membership, no other upfront fees.  That comes out to like $12+ per month.  Needless to say, I was pissed and called.  They gave some lame excuse about how they couldn't match that, so I just quit.
