As we arrived for a late night meal at Belltown Bistro (
more info) on a weeknight, we found a restaurant with its full kitchen open, and a good amount of customers enjoying the happy hour specials.
Everything around us was very clean and shiny. In fact, hygiene concerns did not even come close to mind in this visit.
The restaurant is conviniently located on Belltown's first avenue, making it an easy walking distance from all of the apartment complexes nearby. There is however little to no designated parking for those customers who drive.
The friendly bartender was fast to offer us drinks and take our order, which arrived accurately within a few minutes of ordering.
Plate Rated: Steamed Manila Clams
The clams were presented in a bowl filled with garlic butter sauce. The lemon wedges on top were a nice touch, and the extra bowl for the shells was a useful addition (often forgotten about in other restaurants).
The sauce married itself very nicely with the clams. I found myself adding it on with every bite. The bread on the side provided a delicious means of enjoying more of the ssuce when I finished the clams.
$14.50 is a great deal for this dish, considering the large quantity of clams. You can also get this dish during the happy hour, after 10pm, for just $7.50.
