Obama wants to raise your taxes. What I do not understand how can he claim that he wants to put more money in your hands with an attitiude like that.

he only wants to raise taxes on the rich.  he actually wants to lower taxes for the lower and middle classes.  i don't know about you, but i know i'm not rich.

The rich will just lay people off or just raise prices that will be passed onto us. Which will cause us to go into a recession. Obama does not have any idea on how to run the country he has never served in the miltary and has only been in congress 288 days.

serving in the military isn't a prerequisite to being a president.  it's honorable, but doesn't mean you'd be better.  i know people who serve that shouldn't be running a lemonade stand, let alone a country.

news flash, we're in a recession right now.  and it wasn't due to raising taxes on the rich.  if 'the rich' raise prices, more people will have money to make the choice to buy or not buy regardless.  if no one buys at higher prices, 'the rich' have to lower prices again.  either way, you can go 2 steps or 20 steps deep in explaining how lowering taxes on the poor/middle class is going to screw them over; it's all theory.  the only thing anyone knows for sure is that if taxes are reduced for the poor/middle class tomorrow, they'll be paying less tomorrow (and keeping more).

No we are not in a recession. The ecomony continues to grow but is just growing slower. McCaine's advisors are correct when they say it is only mental. There has not been any negative growth. Cleary Obama's tax policies will slow the economy into a recession. 5.5 percent unemployment rate in Washington as compared to 7.0 percent three years ago is an improvement. Cutting taxes to help the economy grow goes back to Regan and john F Kennedy administrations. Obama clearly shows with his flip flop statements that he does not understand we he is doing.


McCain's miltary background and service does make him more qualified than anyone when it comes to foreign policy. When he was a POW in Vietnam he showed leadership. Obama on the other hand can not speak without a teleprompter. That does not say much.

only mental?  we'll see.  you're holding strong to the textbook definition of a recession, which is fine.  bottom line, people are starting to lose their jobs again.  they can't pay for their inflated value homes and they can't sell them.  banks are going under.  i don't need to see 2 consecutive quarters of declining gdp to know we're not in a good spot.  warren buffett already thinks we're in one too.  this economy is in trouble and it's because we've been patching problems to artifically keep this 'strong' economy afloat.  sorry, but we're in line for more pain and it wasn't obama that put us here.  anyway, i'll let my money do the talking.  my investments reflect where i think we're headed.  we're down, but nowhere near the bottom yet.

it's silly to blanket either candidate with as simple a statement as 'he's raising taxes' or 'he's lowering taxes'.  but overall, you can't keep cutting taxes.  it's like giving a fat kid a candy bar every time he gets hungry.  at some point you gotta make him work out and eat a salad.  the longer you avoid it, the harder it's going to be to get him back into shape.

when there are tax cuts more people get jobs and pay taxes and more revenue comes in.  People are already being squeezed because of gas prices. So you want to take more money that people do not have and make thier life harder. Which will cause a recession. I went thorugh a recession in the eighties that was the worst I have ever seen. Clearly what needs to happen is oil prices need to come down and we need to drill. When Bush lifted the off shore ban the price the price per barrel dropped instanly.

Its the Democrates who have pushed lenders to loan to unqualified buyers. Itss the Democrates who will not let us drill. Congress has a very low approval rating because of it. People need relief not  hinderance. So if you want a recession raising taxes is good way to do it.

Bush came in touting tax cuts.  Look where we're at now.  Again, Obama is not 'raising taxes'.  Will you be paying more taxes if Obama gets elected?  Just answer that question.. don't make it a multi-step process.

yes obama wiil raise taxes. Thanks to Bush we have had eight years of Economic growth. Now that the Democrates won't let us drill for our own oil we have four dollar a gallan gas. I do not know why dems just can not learn to stop wasting money and live within a budget. It would nice if they could act like an adults. I have too!

You didn't answer the question.  Will YOU be paying more taxes next year if Obama gets elected?  Not this blanket "Obama will raise taxes" nonsense.  Unless you're rich, we both know the answer.

I believe the last time we had a budget surplus was Mr. Clinton, Democrat.
